Charles begins life with his Sicilian grandmother in a four-floor, walk-up tenement building, a life now long gone from the streets of Manhattan’s Eastside. There’s love, hate, revenge, and tales of attempted murder involving Charles, his family’s beloved Catholic priests and his Irish dockworker buddies from Hell’s Kitchen.
