Join us for a performance by The Pat DeRosa Jazz Orchestra! The Pat DeRosa Jazz Orchestra is comprised of three generations of the talented DeRosa family, with Pat DeRosa on saxophone, his daughter, Patricia DeRosa Padden on piano and vocals and Nichole DeRosa Padden, his granddaughter, on flute and vocals.

Jazz: The First American Art Form

Join Professor Craig Boyd, a recipient of the prestigious  New York State Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities, as he examines Jazz Music from its conception to the present.  Craig will piece together major events in African, European and American sociopolitical history that spawned the seeds of this unique American art form.
Through the study of rhythm developments, important historical dates, social and political trends, instrumentation, improvisational techniques, listening analysis of musical forms and genres, attendees will enhance their knowledge, understanding and develop an enriched appreciation for this  first American Art Form.
