Join the East Hampton Library as we welcome , Michael Tesoriero Curator, President and Founder of the Newspaper Museum, as he brings a selection of newspapers highlighting different major events throughout the world. The Newspaper Museum has over 7,000 Newspapers in its archives. Mr. Michael Tesoriero has provided the East Hampton Library with a wide range of East Hampton Star newspaper volumes, some of which have filled gaps in our collection, for the purpose of scanning. These papers are in the process of being digitized and 1885-1979 are currently available for view on Digital Long Island on the library’s website.
Smithtown Government Television broadcast a special about the Newspaper Museum called “Newspaper Museum comes to Smithtown”. The video can be viewed on Youtube.
10 newspapers were sent to the U.S.S. Intrepid to help with the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing, which took place on July 20th 1969.
There is also a TV documentary in the works about New York, and the Museum, slated to be shown at a film festival in Corona Queens this October.
